Kappa Engineering was established in 1987 as a general engineering company. Later, the company began specialising in manufacturing, repairing, remanufacturing, assembling, and testing hydraulic cylinders.
In their attempt to build successful relationships, and as they extend their support into Botswana, customers and clients can visit the Kappa team in late February in Gaborone and Central Palapye.
Kappa is also a proud supporter of empowerment as they are a level 2 B-BBEE contributor with a 26% black woman ownership. Kappa strives to support, empower and include wherever possible.
“We want to grow our client base and focus on expanding in the international market”, says Gerrie Visagie, Kappa’s Managing Director.
Kappa will provide support to companies in Botswana from their head office in South Africa. Kappa Engineering has been synonymous with fast turnaround times and high-quality workmanship in the hydraulic industry for over three decades, making them an industry leader.

The Suppliers Roadshow is scheduled for Tuesday, 22 February and Wednesday, 23 February 2022, where suppliers like Kappa Engineering will be exhibiting their products, services and technical expertise.
Precision hydraulic cylinders are a key focus at Kappa Engineering.
The botswana footprint
Kappa’s support in Botswana will allow customers to use Kappa’s Service Level Agreements for repairs. This decreases turnaround times because they can keep service exchange units on hand.
Custom Designs are another advantage, as Kappa has its own department where its servers keep drawings safe. Companies can also use Kappa’s White Labelled hydraulics for brand awareness.
In the hydraulic cylinder market, there is virtually no cylinder Kappa can’t repair. With quality assurance beyond ISO 9001:2015, they offer a diversified service and product offering, including new manufacture, flame-cutting, machining and welding.
“Kappa already supports the entire SADC and regularly exports to Australia. The Roadshow further establishes and confirms our support to these people,” shares Gerrie further.
Kappa is also considering opening a workshop in Botswana and other African countries giving locals the opportunity to learn and develop new skills. They are proud to announce that an official branch will be open in the DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo) in 2022 to expand their brand and reach.
The motto that Kappa lives by is “Building a reputation, not leaning on one”.
